Dr. Richard Appelbaum, professor of sociology at UCSB and member of
CNS’s executive committee, recently spoke a forum entitled "Nanotechnology in China: Ambitions and Realities" at the Woodrow Wilson Center's Project on Emerging Nanotechnologies."
With the world’s greatest population and a global leader in research and innovation, China is rapidly catching up to the United States in field of nanotechnology. Knowing this, a flurry of questions follow: Will China overtake the U.S. in research and development? Will their investment pay off? How will the U.S. respond?
