Map and Directions
The Democratizing Technologies conference is being held at the Corwin Pavilion at the University of California-Santa Barbara. Break-out rooms (State Street Room and Harbor Room) are in the adjacent University Center.
Air travel and ground transportation
Participants using air travel should fly into the local Santa Barbara Airport (SBA), which is a 5-10 minute cab ride from the campus. SBA is serviced by Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Horizon Airlines, United and US Airways. If your flight will arrive after 11PM, you should call in advance to reserve a taxi (Santa Barbara Yellow Cab at 805-965-5111 or Rose Cab at 805-564-2600).
Another option is to fly into the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and take the Santa Barbara Airbus ($88 for prepaid roundtrip ticket), which provides service approximately every 1.5-2 hour(s) from 9AM to 10PM. To reserve a ride on the Santa Barbara Airbus, go to http://www.sbairbus.com/ and reserve a trip from LAX to Goleta (the nearest town to campus). The Airbus is not a shuttle, and the bus driver will ask riders if they need a cab to take them from the Airbus stop to their final destination and will call a cab for you.
Hotels with discounted group rates will be available. Please check back for updated information.
