It's time to usher in nanomedicine revolution (Economic Times, 6/12/08) |

Like information technology, India could well usher in the
nanomedicine revolution. Spearheading this mission are two Indian researchers,
Kattesh V Katti and Raghuraman Kannan, who have conceived a nanomedicine
institution.
The project entails an investment of Rs 250 crore. The agenda for the
researchers, who have made ground-breaking discoveries in this field, is to
develop nanomedicine in a big way and drastically change healthcare delivery. Currently, they are attached to the University
of Missouri in the US.
“They are keen to come back to India
and establish an institution for nanomedicine in the country,” Sankara
Nethralaya chairman emeritus Dr SS Badrinath told ET here on Wednesday. In India, there
are only about a dozen nanomedicine specialists, he added.
